How do you use Breakout Rooms in Microsoft Teams?

NOTE: Teams does not auto assign breakout members. You are responsible for determining groups and adding individuals to any breakout group (channel).
A. Create a channel for breakout groups
- Start with a Team / Class you already created.

- Click on the 3 dots to the right name of the team (it should say "More options" when hovering over it ) ... near the Team / Class title to create a new channel

- Click Add channel,then give the channel a name and select the type. When click "Create"


- After clicking create, Add members to each channel. If the "Add members" option does not come up automatically, select the 3 dots next to the Breakout Group/Room.

- Repeat actions for each breakout group needed.
B. Visit group meetings to check progress
- Click the name of the channel to join the channel
- Click Meet Now in the controls located on the bottom of the page to join the discussion.

- Use the play/pause button to move from one breakout to the another.
- Use the red phone icon to leave the breakout session.
