Printers: How to Add the New DME (Sharp) Printer Queues to a YSU Device

Question

How can I add the new printer queues for the Sharp printers to my YSU device?

Answer

IMPORTANT: Make sure your device is connected to the YSU network either by using YSU_WiFi or hard-wired with an Ethernet cable.

Windows:

  1. Open the Start Menu and locate the Company Portal application and open it.
    • You can also search for it using the Windows search bar in taskbar or start menu.
  2. Once open, give it a moment to load then choose Apps from the left panel.
  3. Now locate the Printer: Employee/Student Print app and click on it.
  4. Click the Install button and please wait for the installation to complete.
  5. The Student_Print and Employee_Print options should now be in your printer list.
  6. Print to the queue that suits your role, then log in to a printer on campus to release your print job(s).

 

MacOS:

  1. Open Finder then choose Applications.
    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​You can also click the Go button in the top left then choose Applications.​​​​​​​
  2. Locate the YSU Self-Service application and open it.
    • ​​​​​​​
  3. The Home page should open by default and there should be an app called Map YSU DME (Sharp) Printers​​​​​​​.
  4. Click Map Printers and please wait for the installation to complete.
  5. The Student_Print and Employee_Print options should now be in your printer list.
  6. Print to the queue that suits your role, then log in to a printer on campus to release your print job(s).
