How do I configure my iPhone or iPad to access my YSU Office 365 email?

Answer

This guide will assist you with configuring your iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, or iPad Mini (with iOS 14 or later) to access the Office 365 Email system. 

Instructions:

  1. Tap Settings.


     
  2. Tap Mail.


     
  3. Tap Accounts.



  4. Tap Add Account and select Microsoft Exchange.


     
  5. Enter the requested information as follows and then tap Next:
    • Email: Your full YSU e-mail address
       Students: username@student.ysu.edu
       Faculty/Staff: username@ysu.edu
    • Description:  YSU E-mail
       

     
  6. Tap Sign In.  


     
  7. You will be redirected to the YSU ADFS login page to enter the password for your email account. Enter your password and then tap the Sign in button.


     
  8. Tap Accept on the permissions prompt to grant your phone access to your email account.

  9. The system will verify the email address and password entered and display check marks next to the email address/description if the information was entered correctly.


     
  10. Select the items you would like to synchronize from the list by toggling the sliders on the right (green = ON) then tap Save.


     
  11. Be sure to set your sync preferences by going to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Exchange and tap on Mail Days to Sync. Then choose "No Limit" to sync all of your emails.

You have successfully configured your iOS device to receive YSU Office 365 email. You can view your email using the built-in mail application.
