How to Create and Assign Gradebook Categories

Creating Grade Categories
1. Log in to Blackboard and access your course.
2. Select Gradebook from the navigation bar.
3. Select the settings icon in the upper right corner to access the gradebook settings. Select Add New Category.
4. Type a name for the new category. Select enter on your keyboard or click your mouse outside of the new grade category.
Your new category has been created.
Assigning Grade Categories
1. From the main course content area, access one of your assessment items.
2. Select the settings icon in the upper right corner.
3. Under the Grading & Submissions section, change the assessment's grade category.
4. Select Save.
