Answer
Blackboard allows you to create and organize instructional material for student access. Items can include folders, documents, multimedia, or links.
- From your course, navigate to the Course Content section.
- Click the plus sign where you want to add content and select Create.
- Under Course Content Items, choose Document.
- Enter a document name. This document will serve as your page to insert and build instructional material.
- Adjust the visibility and availability settings by selecting the drop-down menu in the upper right corner.
- Select a type of content to add a block to the document.
- Content block – Add on-screen text, attach files/images/videos, insert YouTube videos, and insert hyperlinks. The content editor allows you to insert text, URL links, images, or videos.
- HTML block – Create HTML elements within the editor.
- Knowledge check block - Test student comprehension of a document by asking multiple choice or multiple answer questions.
- File upload block – Upload a file from your computer to the document.
- Cloud upload block – Login to a cloud service, such as OneDrive, and add into the document.
- Content Collection block – Browse the Content Collection and add a file to add to the document.
- Image block – Use the drop down menu to choose your source and add an image to the document.
- Divider – Add a horizontal line to the document.
- Convert a file block – Upload a file and the system converts it into the document format.
- To continue adding content, click the plus sign on the left to open the panel. Choose a block.
IDDC Pro Tip: Utilize the content editor box to provide specific actions you want students to take with the content (read, review, watch, etc.). This enhances clarity within your course by assembling course elements in an easy to locate and understand manner.
- Click Save in the upper right corner to save changes to your document.
- Click the purple "X" to return to the course content page.
