Webex: Creating Transcript Files

Question

How to create transcript files on Webex?

Answer

Open the Webex App.  If using a personal device, download the app.  

1. Sign in using your YSU credentials. (Same login as your Penguin Portal)

 Sign in using your YSU username and password.

  1. Navigate to the left and click on the calendar icon.  

 Click on the calendar icon.

 3.  Click on "Meeting Recap" to locate and select a recording to obtain a transcript.  You may also see the transcript as an artifact on the recording.

Click on transcript or recording to open the next menu.

 

 

4. If you click on Recording, navigate to the right side of the screen and click on the symbol with four lines as seen below to open the transcript tab.  

 Go to the right side of the screen and click on the menu with 4 lines.

This opens the transcript page showing the discussion in the meeting. The transcript is written by Webex's AI tool.  Please review your content for errors. If you decide to edit the AI generated content, click on the pencil icon by hovering over a section of the transcript.

Downloading Transcript Files

1. Go to ysu.webex.com.

2. Sign in using your YSU credentials. (Same login as your Penguin Portal)

Click Sign in and login with YSU credentials

3.  Go to the left side of the screen and press the recordings tab. To download it press on the downwards arrow to download it. 

Press on the recordings tab located on the left menu, click on the recording you want to download and press the downwards arrow icon to download it.

4. Click on the download button to start downloading the recording with transcript. 

Make sure the transcript box is selected for download.
