Vidcast: Share Videos from Your Content Library

Question

How can I share my Vidcast videos with an audience?

Answer

Sharing Vidcast video with an audience can be easily achieved by accessing your library of videos, selecting the method to share, then obtaining a link.  Vicast produces a transcript, closed captions, and an AI-generated video "highlight" with time-stamp.

Access Your Library

  1. Click on the desired video in your LibraryVidcast home page with emphasis on the Library tab at the top of the page
  2. Select the Share button.

Select the Method/Location to Share

Within the Share menu, you will find several options to Share with a Link, to Social Media, or to Embed your video into the LMS or a website.

Share

1. Before sharing occurs the permissions for the link must be set.  Select Open Link, Restricted or Private depending on your preferences. Open link is shown in the image below and is preferred for sharing to an audience without requiring email addresses for viewers.  Restricted sharing requires that email addresses are added in the field at the top of the Share window.  Private is not share. It is the state of new and uploaded videos in your Vidcast library.

2. Click Copy link to copy the link to the device clipboard where it may be pasted into your LMS, email or other communication tool such as Teams.

3. Click Done to close the Share window or click the 'X' in the upper right corner.

Social 

Click the Social tab.

  1. Click the icon or name for the Social media platform to sign in and post your video.
  2. Alternatively, you may obtain a QR code for the video by clicking the QR code symbolQR Code icon four squares with brackets around them or click share to the social media platform using the share iconshare icon.

Embed

1. Click Copy embed link to obtain the link on your device clipboard. Paste the link to the LMS, email, or website. If you select Copy Embed Code, an HTML iframe will be generated. For the LMS content creation option, use Copy Embed Link with the Link content type and Copy Embed Code in a Document content type. Select HTMLin that instance.
