YSU uses Microsoft's Office 365 suite which includes the email service Outlook. If you've never had any experience with it before or just need a refresher on the basics you can read the Beginners Guide to Using Outlook article. If you want to set it up on your mobile device you can keep tabs on your email from anywhere you can read the Set UP M365 Email on a Mobile Device article. For any additional information or instruction you can visit the Outlook Knowledge Base category to view all the article relating to using Outlook.
In addition to spam filtering, YSU uses additional filtering to sort promotional emails (graymail). This graymail encompasses emails you receive that are product promotions, product information, vendors, newsletters, or other marketing material that you may have intentionally or unintentionally subscribed to, conducted a Google search for, or opted in when downloading or making a purchase. To learn more about graymail and the Promotions folder, please see the article Outlook: Promotions Folder.
To reset your YSU logon password, use the Password Reset Self-Service. This online tool helps users reset forgotten passwords. For more information please read the Penguin Portal Password Reset Instructions article. For any additional help resetting your password you can contact the IT Service Desk.
A majority of the YSU owned computers run the Windows 10 operating system. If you are new to Windows then you may want to view the WIndows Update FAQ. Furthermore, you can also view the Standard Software article to see what software is included on YSU's Windows machines, but also keep in mind that exceptions are made for research computers.
Also included with our Microsoft 365 licenses is their cloud storage service OneDrive. There you can store and easily share work-related documents.
