Question

What is Vidcast and how do I access the system? 

Answer

Vidcast is a tool acquired by Webex that will allow you to manage your Webex recordings, create on the fly recordings, and host existing videos. The system also allows for editing and sharing your videos. 

To access Vidcast, take the following steps:

  1. Visit vidcast.io.
     
  2. Click Login at the top right.

  3. Click Continue with Webex.

  4. Sign in with your @ysu.edu email address and password. Proceed using the SSO (Single Sign On) process. Note: If you are already logged into Webex, the system will just take you to the Vidcast dashboard.
     
  5. Once you have logged in, you will be transferred to the Vidcast Dashboard. Here is a brief overview of some of the most important dashboard sections:

    1. New Video- Allows you to create an on the fly recording using your system camera, microphone, and/or screen. The video will be hosted on your Vidcast account.

    2. Library- This is the location in which your videos are stored. You can see existing recordings, manually upload video files, or create a new video. This is also location that you can share videos from.

    3. Import Meetings- A special category in which you can import your recorded Webex meetings/classes.

    4. Recommended for you- Helpful videos to help you get acclimated with Vidcast.
