Account: Reset An Expired/Forgotten Penguin Portal Account Password

How do I reset an expired or forgotten Penguin Portal account password?

Follow the instructions below to reset an expired or forgotten Penguin Portal account password.

1. Navigate to the YSU Password Self-Service Options site by clicking HERE.
2. Select Reset Forgotten Password within the list.
3. Enter your Penguin Portal username.  
   Note: This is the first portion of your YSU assigned email address before the @ symbol (e.g. username@student.ysu.edu or username@ysu.edu).
4. Click the I'm not a robot checkbox.  
5. You may be prompted to complete a Captcha. If so, please follow the instructions presented on the screen to continue.
6. Click Search.
7. Enter valid responses for each of the 3 security questions.
   Note: Responses are CASE SENSITIVE!
8. Click Check Answers.
9. Enter your desired password into the New Password and Confirm Password fields and click Change Password.
   Note: Be sure to follow all password requirements at the top of the page or the new password will not be accepted
10. Wait for the password change to complete and click Continue.
11. Close your browser tab or window upon receiving the You are now logged out message.
12. Your password has been changed successfully.
