How to Connect to the YSU Secure Wireless on Windows 10

Question

How do I connect to ysuwireless using a Windows 10 device?

Answer

Required items:

  • Windows 10

  • Any 802.11 a/g/n wireless radio supporting the WPA2 Enterprise authentication method and the AES encryption type 

  • A current supported antivirus product

  • Your YSU Directory Account (MyYSU) username and password

Connect to ysuwireless on Windows 10:

  1. Walk within range of the YSU Secure Wireless System. Note: Range is anywhere within approximately 100 feet of a wireless-enabled building. Range will vary with radio.

  2. From the desktop, click the Wi-Fi icon  on your task bar. 

  3. Choose YSU_WiFi from the list of available networks.

  4. ​​​​Sign in with your YSU Login ID and password when prompted and choose OK.
    • You may be prompted if you wish to Continue Connecting? If so, choose Connect.
           
  5. Click on the Wi-Fi icon  on your taskbar and verify that YSU_WiFi is Connected

 

Troubleshooting Tips:

  1. Click on the Wi-Fi icon  and select the Network Settings option. 

  2. Click the Manage Wi-Fi settings option.

  3. Choose ysuwireless and then click the Forget button to remove the ysuwireless profile.

  4. Refer to the beginning of this article, Step #1, and attempt to connect to ysuwireless
