Canva: Access after leaving YSU

What happens to my Canva account and Cavna access when I am no longer a student, staff or faculty at YSU? 

Users may need to take additional steps to continue to use Canva after leaving YSU depending on your user role. 

Students

1. Once you stop taking classes, either from graduating or not taking courses for a semester or longer, your access to Canva for Campus will be removed. This will happen roughly 1 year after leaving or graduating. 
    
2. Per the Canva support article "Can't log in", Canva states "You were part of a managed Canva account and were removed from it. Resolve this by contacting the account owner/manager or IT admin.". We confirmed with Canva support that YSU is not able to unlock the account. In order to unlock the account, please contact Canva support and create a ticket asking them to unlock the account.

   3. Describe the issue: My Canva account is locked due to being part of a managed account. Please unlock the account so I can access and change the email to a different account. 
       
3. Once the account has been unlocked, you will want to change your email address in Canva to another external email to avoid any issues down the road when you may no longer have access to your @student.ysu.edu email. Follow these instructions to do so "Change Email Address".

Faculty and Staff

1. Faculty and staff are assigned to Canva for Teams manually by individual or departmental request. When an employee no longer works for YSU, ITS goes through an off boarding checklist and removes access to a number of technology services, including Canva.
    
2. Before leaving YSU, an employee that would like to save any designs should create a private email and Canva account and transfer those designs.
