How do I connect my Android device to the YSU_WiFi network?
Answer
Note: When connecting any device to the YSU_WiFi network, it is strongly recommended that the following security precautions be taken to protect your data and ensure maximum compatibility:
- Make sure that any updates for the operating system well as any software updates on the device are installed.
- Set a screen lock passcode or password on your device.
- If the device runs a security and/or antivirus suite, make sure that only one suite is installed and that it is current with the latest definitions.
- Tap on the All apps button or go to the App Drawer.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Wi-Fi (Wireless & Networks on some devices).
- Verify that Wi-Fi is On (usually via a slider or check box).
- Tap the YSU_WiFi network to bring up the connection settings for it.
- Enter the following settings for the YSU_WiFi network:
- EAP method: PEAP
- Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2
- CA certificate: Set to DEFAULT
- User certificate: Set to DEFAULT
- Identity: Your YSU username
- Anonymous identity: Leave this blank
- Password: Your YSU password
- Click Connect after all of the above settings are correct.
- Verify connectivity. After a few seconds, the YSU_WiFi network should be Connected and the set up is complete.
