What is Passwordless authentication?

Answer

Passwordless Authentication enables you to just tap an approval on your phone to sign in. This is called going passwordless
 

NOTE:  You will need a password to release printing and other services around campus.

Enroll with Microsoft Authenticator

See Microsoft's article for Using the Authenticator App.  

1. Download the App

  1. iPhone/iPad: Open the App Store and search for Microsoft Authenticator -OR-
  2. Android: Open Google Play Store and search for Microsoft Authenticator.
  3. Tap Install and wait for the app to download.

2. Set Up the App

  1. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
  2. If prompted, allow notifications and camera access (used for QR code scanning).
  3. Tap + Add Account.
  4. Choose Work or School Account.

3. Register for Passwordless Sign-In

  1. Sign in using your work credentials.
  2. Select Authenticator App as your preferred method.
  3. A QR code will appear on screen.

4. Link Your Account

  1. In the Authenticator app, tap Scan QR Code.
  2. Point your phone’s camera at the QR code on your computer screen.
  3. Your account will be added to the app.

5. Enable Phone Sign-In

  1. Tap your account in the app.
  2. Tap Enable phone sign-in (if not already enabled).
  3. Follow the prompts to complete setup.

Next time you sign in, you’ll receive a push notification to approve the login—no password needed!
