A Webcam is now standard equipment found in our Airtame Classrooms.  The Webcam, with auto focus and dual Mics, is connected to the instructor station computer and provides the ability to connect with remote participants during classes or meetings via any of the video conferencing platforms such as Webex and the Webcam can also be used as a document camera.

Videoconferencing


The Webcam is attached to a flexible stand the allows you to turn the camera to face you, turn towards the class, or towards the board

1. Press the button on the small Extron panel to start the projection system.
2. Log into instructor station computer.
3. Slide the clip on the camera to the right or left to allow camera access.
4. Open the video conferencing platform. (Webex, Blackboard Collaborate, MS Teams, Zoom)
5. Verify in the meeting preview window that the camera is working and start/join meeting.
6. Click the drop down next to the microphone and select settings.
7. Select Extron Scaler or RealTek under speakers to pull the audio into the room system.
8. Check under microphone that USB Mic or USB Camera Mic is selected.  (Cannot remember exact phrasing)
9. Close settings.
10. Adjust volume as necessary on the Extron panel for feedback.

 

Document Camera

The Webcam can be used as a document camera  in a face to face class or during a videoconferencing session. 

Face to Face

1. Type camera app in the search bar located at the bottom right of the screen.

2. Click camera app.
3. Flip and rotate the Webcam to display documents correctly.

Hybrid or Remote

Webex 

1, Start meeting.
2. Face the Webcam down towards the desktop.
3. Click the drop down arrow next to the video camera
4. Rotate image in the upper right corner of the preview.

 

Zoom Meetings

1, Start meeting.
2. Face the Webcam down towards the desktop.
3. Click the drop down arrow next to the video camera
4. Rotate image in the upper right corner of the preview.
