Who can use it?

What is it?

This service allows you to request the installation of software on YSU owned computers. There are some software packages which are available for installation on Non-YSU owned devices (ex. SPSS).

Where to get it?

Check the following lists to see if the software is already available for installation:

If the software is not on any of these lists:

  • Please have any software installation media as well as licensing information available.
  • Additional time may be required to build and test deployment package if the software needs to be installed on multiple computers.

How to use it?

In order to expedite software installation, please provide the following information in the request:

  • YSU Technology Services tag number
  • Location (Building and Room Number) of computer
  • Software being requested (include version, if available)

A technician / engineer will review the request and contact you with any additional questions.

A faster turn around time can be expected if the software is on one of the lists above and the computer is turned on and connected to the YSU wired network.

If the software is not on one of the lists above and is needed on multiple computers, a minimum of 10 business days time will be required to build and test deployment package. 

How much does it cost?

No cost associated with software installation. There may be additional costs if software has not already been purchased by YSU or Department.
