My instructor has incorporated the YSU App Cloud by Apporto in Blackboard. How do I access my virtual machine (VM) from Blackboard?
Answer
The YSU App Cloud by Apporto is provided to streamline your computer lab experience in a virtual environment. This means you can access all of the necessary apps for your class from anywhere. Your instructor has incorporated the YSU App Cloud by Apporto in your Blackboard course for ease of access. Let's take a look at the process of accessing the YSU App Cloud by Apporto from your course.
The process may vary depending on how your instructor has configured the integration. Below is an example of accessing the YSU App Cloud by Apporto from Blackboard.
1. First, you need to navigate to the content area in which the instructor has placed the link to your Virtual Machine (VM). In the below example, a link has been placed to the Engineering VM.

2. After clicking the link to the VM, the system will launch the interface to your VM. This process authenticates you to the VM using your existing Blackboard session, there is no need to login to the VM. This process can take a few seconds.

3. After the tool launches to Apporto, the system will begin loading your VM. This process can take a few moments to complete.

Note: You may receive a prompt for permission to allow access to your system clipboard. Click allow to allow functions such as copy and paste. The above image is from Google Chrome. The message may vary depending on your web browser.
4. After the system loads your VM, you will now be taken to the desktop of your VM. In this example, this is the Engineering desktop. You can use functions such as the toolbar and the messenger app.
