Penguin Portal is Youngstown State University's campus portal. The portal offers students, faculty, and staff secure and personalized access to Office 365 email, Self-Service Banner, and channels of information. Students are able to register for classes, check their grades, pay their bill, access Blackboard, and purchase their parking permit. Faculty and Staff are able to view their pay stub, leave balances, tax information, plus much more.

How do I access the Penguin Portal (PC, Mac or Mobile)?
Answer
To log in and use the system effectively, YSU recommends one of the following Internet browsers: Internet Explorer 8 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 10.x or higher, Google Chrome 17.x or higher, and Safari 5 or higher. Penguin Portal log in for mobile devices is also supported.
To Access the Penguin Portal via PC or MAC:
- Open an Internet browser and type in ysu.edu in the address bar and hit enter, this will bring you to the YSU homepage.
- Select Penguin Portal in the upper right part of the screen.
- You will be directed the landing page. From here select the Penguin Portal "Login" button.
- You will be prompted to enter your FULL email address for log in. and click next.
- You will then be prompted to enter your YSU password.

To Access the Penguin Portal via Mobile Devices:
Note: The Penguin Portal is compatible with android and iPhone mobile operating systems
- Open your mobile browser and enter ysu.edu to take you to the YSU homepage.
- Select the Penguin Portal in the top menu.
- You will be directed the landing page. From here select the Penguin Portal "Login" button.
- You will directed to enter your FULL email address for log in and select next.
- You will then be prompted to enter your YSU password.
- After clicking Sign in, you will be directed to the Penguin Portal.
