A. How to Access Teams

  1. Click the Start Menu (Windows)  a picture of windows start menu iconor Click the Launchpad (Mac).
  2. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)Type "Microsoft Teams" in the search bar.
  3. Click on the Microsoft Teams app to open it.
  4. if prompted, Sign in with your YSU email address and password

 

 

B. How to Create a Class in Teams

  1. Select Teams from the app bar.

    • Note: If you don’t see the Teams app on the app bar, go to the App Launcher (dotted square icon) to search for Teams.
    • Once found, right-click it and select "Pin" so it stays on the app bar for easy access.

  2. Click Join or create team > Create team.

  3. Select Class as the team type.

  4. Click the blue button for "Use this Template."selecting the class template

  5. Enter a name and optional description for your class. Select Create .A picture of the teams name, description and create button

C. Add Students

You can add students at any time. It’s not necessary to add them when you first create the class team. You can skip this step until you're ready to enter your roster.

  1. To add students or make changes later:

    • Navigate to the team.
    • Select More options (three dots) > Add member.

       2.Type the student’s or co-teacher’s name or email.

  • In the drop down, select Member for students and Owner for co-teachers.  

       Note: We recommend assigning co-instructors as owners and students as members.
