Question

How do I request information or assistance with an application or process in Banner?

Answer

Use this service to request information and/or assistance with an application or process in our Banner System. This includes all YSU-written applications/processes, third-party Integration systems, and any supporting Banner tools (BDM, ePrint, Form Fusion, etc.).  

This service is considered with medium urgency, the Application Services development staff is notified, along with the Manager and Director. This will be addressed as time permits  

How to Request Information or Assistance with a Business Application (Banner)

  1. Navigate to the Banner: Request Information/Assistance service on the Technology Support Portal
  2. Sign in with your YSU Login ID and password if prompted.
  3. Click Request Service (typically located on the right side of the page).
  4. You will be prompted to complete the following information. The items with an asterisk are required:
    • Requester*: Enter the name of the person requesting information or assistance. This field will auto complete to the person who is signed in to the site.
    • Department*: Enter the department associated with the person requesting assistance. This should only be changed if you have a dual role (e.g. student and student employee for a department).
    • Banner Module*: Select the Banner system this request is related to.
    • Related Software*: Select the non-Banner (third-party) software this request pertains to.
    • Impact: Select the impact, in terms of number of individuals affected by this request.
    • Urgency*: Select the importance of this ticket and how quickly it needs attention.
    • Title*: Enter a short description of the information or assistance you are requesting.
    • Description*: Describe, in detail, the type of information or assistance you are requesting; provide as much information as possible to expedite your request.
    • Attachment: Click Browse to attach any file(s) relevant to this request; this can include screenshots, error logs, etc.
  5. Once you have completed the form, click Request Service.
